Interview with Mr.Mukesh Srivastava.

Mr.Mukesh Srivastava Associate dean, COB and associate professor of CIS at University of Mary Washington, Professor of MIS at Tunis Business School.

Thank you sir for giving us the opportunity to have an interview with you !
thank you for the opportunity to have an interview with you, i'm glad to be in tunisia especially at tbs what a charming university!
Can you Tell us what is your academic career ?
my academic carrer is a little varied it has not been in a straight line basically because i was in the purpose of exploring things , my bachelor degree in chemistry and i have an mba in mis concentration and a doctor in business in MIS. i've been educated in 3 countries and all my degrees are from these different countries and that gave me a global perspective and how to look at things in different ways.
What do you think About TBS ?

I think very highly of tbs, i think it has an opportunity to be an intellectual capital center in north africa, well provided and it has resources and it's open to ideas, matured code, it could become a center for supply in human resources for corporations not only in tunisia but also in the world, in the private sector and in the public sector, i hope it will produce business leaders in the world.
So, why you choose Tunisia and Specially Tunis Business School ?
Well, i wanted to do my full-part assignement  somewhere in the middle east because i thought it will be different country, different culture, different kind of people but tunisian opportunity did come along on time i was planning to do my full-part somewhere in the spring or fall 2011 and it happen , it just happen that this opportunity from tunisia and tbs was interested in me coming so i said yes.
What is the difference between universities in the USA and those in Tunisia?
There is a lot of differences ; you are a very performant model , your public education is almost free , in the US it is not free, one has to pay huge amount of sum (money) to be in the university and that is perhaps the government policy which is looking for incentives in markets and initially what should be the price of services over here it is subsidised by the government.
what do you think about TBS Students ?
I think tbs students are very right and i think they have the opportunity to go , i think it's the 1st institution of forming leaders so, some dicipline has to be taken for example if we have a class of 80students only 50 show up , there's a problem and that needs to be handled by the student itself because let's say "you can bring water to the horse but you cant drink water for the horse" so i mean that has to be kept in mind, hopefully that will change tbs's future from good to better.
Concerning the electoral event of october 23rd do you have any comments on that ?
Sure, i was very excited to be here with the freat day in tunisia , i would say, and it will set up a democratic process and constitutional process which has not been seen in many many years in tunisia. but that is very good . in any country from right to left or left to right parties tend to come up to power again and again.
Can you give some advices for TBS Students ?
I think that they should work hard , they should study hard, they must look at things critically rather than trying to memorise stuffhave reflected view of the materialengage in discussions in the classroom with the teacherhave a notion of engagement in studying and help them selves that will be continuing during the years of student's life at TBS.
