Tunisiana's offer rejected by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies

The Minister of Information and Communication Technologies MR. Mongi Marzouk announced yesterday during a public session over the financial offer that tunisiana ‘s bid to acquire 3rd 3G and landline license was rejected.

The company offered to purchase the l the landline license for 36 million dinars and the 3G license for 125 million dinars.

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies declared that this offer did not reach the minimum that it would be accepted . they also confirmed that once they concede licenses, the minimum amount that they are willing to accept will be officially announced in order to guarantee that no operator offers them the absolute minimum. We should also mention that Orange Tunisia paid 275 million dinars in June 2009 for a similar package with the option of an exclusive 3G license for one year while Tunisia's most longstanding phone company, Tunisie Telecom, acquired the 3G license on September 21, 2010, for 116 million dinars.

On the other side tunsiana presented an appropriate plan to develop the landline network and 3G coverage in the whole country, especially in the interior regions. It was accepted by the Ministry on march 26 . the technical terms for network and service quality proposed
by the private telecommunications company were very efficient The director of tunisiana Kenneth cambell responded that the company will adjust the offer and renew it in the
coming days because next time it will be the last time that tunisiana present its financial terms.
